OOC PREFERENCES:
•CONTACT METHOD: plurk (
draconic)/PMs
•THREAD-JACKING: Go for it!
•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I would prefer not
•BACKTAGGING: Absolutely!
•AVOIDED TOPICS: Nothing I can think of; if for whatever reason something comes up or starts squicking me real bad I'll mention it
•PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: she/her
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT:
--TLV: after the conclusion of the Pandaemonium storyline
--Labyrinthum, COB: just prior to Zodiark's summoning
--Karteria: immediately post-Sundering
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Even scaled down to better fit on the Barge and in the world of dreams, Lahabrea is tall - coming in a 6'9" - with dark skin, greying hair (that still shows faint traces of its original red) that falls to just abve his shouldeer, a neatly trimmed beard and mustache, and red eyes have a distinct, if faint glow to them. And if that weren't already enough to have him stand out, as of his arrival on the Barge - and likely for some time thereafter - he will be found wearing long black hooded robes, adorned by a red mask hanging at his chest. In speech and action, however, he tends to be somewhat reserved, as if both his thoughts and actions are carefully considered before he brings either into being; if emotion wins out instead it is almost always as short, sharp bursts of anger.
Given his fondness for fire magic, he notably does not smell much like fire unless he has been actively using that magic, though those capable of picking up on magical signatures may notice his preference for it all the same.
As far as actual voice goes, he sounds something like this (link contains visual spoilers for EW raid bosses), though most of the time he will sound less obviously emotional.
•DEMEANOR: Lahabrea is, above all else, a man who could best be described as focused on duty above all. Enough so that he tends to keep his emotions firmly in check or, at least, attempts to keep them out of how he acts in his day to day life. As such, he tends to come off as stern at best and outright cold at worst. That said, he does commit his all to any task before him, and is rarely seen to treat anything with the seriousness it might be due.
•ABILITIES: A full rundown can be found in his app, but the most immediately noticeable is that Lahabrea is a mage of no small skill. His personal preference tends predominantly to fire magic, though he is fully capable of using other elements besides should be required. He is also repeatedly noted to be almost without peer in the art of creation magics, which are about what they sound like: magic capable of creating whatsoever the wielder should wish provided they know the whole of how that thing should happen to work. In game, the scope of what he can create is significantly limited from canon, though how much so varies by game and does still require that he fully understand that which he means to (re)create.
He has additionally had a hand in creating a whole new field of magic: interment magic, which uses magical chains to bind the target of said magic. There are two forms of this, both of which involve the creation of arcane chains: aetherial shackles, which serve to temporarily bind a target, and interment, which is a more permanent method of sealing a target away. In game, however, both will be temporary, as Lahabrea will need to draw on his own aether to sustain an interment - though as it is the longer lasting of the two, I will always ask before having him use interment.
Finally, he is possessed of something canon generally refers to as the Echo, which in addition to allowing him to understand all spoken language also allows him to see into memories. However this requires both that the event in question be one that involved a fairly significant amount of memory and a not inconsiderable amount of direct effort on his part. As such, while unlikely that he will ever resort to it, I have linked a permissions post for it below.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Within his canon, Lahabrea's people are noted to be be more resilient, longer-lived, and possessed of more aether (the energy that exists within all living being and which fuels magic) than any other we see in canon, and Lahabrea himself is notably possessed of a remarkable strength of will. Beyond that, however, he is medically similar to most humanoids, with the exception that while he is visibly old this does not correspond with any particular infirmity like it would with most others his (apparent) age.
Additionally, while it's unlikely to have any affect on medical issues that may crop up, anyone with the ability to see souls may notice a distinct crack running through his, as if it had been torn apart and then mended somewhat imperfectly.
•CABIN INFORMATION (TLV): From the outside, the door to his cabin looks like the ones along the wall in this image.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Most anything to do to with mad science is going to have him seriously side-eyeing, especially the more into it someone is, and any discussion of attempting to control someone's mind is going to very quickly sour his opinion on anyone.
IC PERMISSIONS:
•MENTAL: I'm fine with characters going for it, but he is likely to react extremely poorly to attempts at mind control, and possibly also dream manipulation. Everything else should be fine though.
•MIMICRY: Sure, but he's likely to be distinctly displeased if he learns about it. (But by all means go for it!)
•VIOLENCE: Go for it! He is unlikely to initiate violence himself (in most cases), but will defend himself if attacked.
•MAGIC: Yes, though he's a mage of no small skill himself.
•DEBATE: Absolutely. Debate is a common enough thing in in Amaurot that there's a whole hall dedicated to it.
